For the inauguration, Marks designed the Inauguration Clutch, a sleek handbag which redefines classical elegance. The powder grey rounded clutch, with a signature LANA MARKS contoured front flap, will accessorize Mrs. Bush's Oscar de la Renta suit ensemble. The handbag's new shape has been specially designed for First Lady Laura Bush for the Inauguration.
For the Candlelight Dinners, Marks created the Inauguration Tote, a seashell-pink satin baby tote to match Peggy Jennings' beaded evening gown creation. The handbag's interior lining has been fashioned with the same delicate pink lace and beadwork used on the gown. The open baby tote reveals this extraordinary couture touch, while beaded leaves accent the base of the handles.
"It is an exceptional honor to be chosen to design these two handbags for the First Lady. She epitomizes grace, elegance, and sophistication, all the attributes that make me so proud to be part of this historic occasion," says Lana Marks.
